I escaped the rat race when my side hustle became my business.
Growing up I didn’t receive an allowance because money didn’t grow on trees. I knew I would have to find a way to make my own money and I understood the importance of having money to survive in the world. But I wasn’t old enough to get a job and I wanted nice things like sneakers, clothes, jewelry. When I was in High School my mindset was “nothing will stop me from getting what I want”.
I saw an opportunity to sell snacks in school because let’s face it school lunch sucks and the vending machines didn’t have many options. I started my first side hustle in high school, I made a dozen cupcakes and sold them for lunch. You can imagine how happy I was because the profit was high and I got the nickname “cupcake girl”.
By the time I graduated high school I was already working in fashion management and I was doing the 9-5 like everyone else but I always thought to myself “I can’t do this forever”. A part of my always wanted flexibility and freedom to do what made me happy and aligned with my values. I wasn’t sure what the would-be until I started attending networking events and I met these incredible entrepreneurs who running their own businesses while working a full 9-5!
I was inspired and my vision for my business was born, In 2018 I launched my side hustle Boss Up With Sahreen… which is now my purpose. I went from running in a rat race every day to going into full alignment with my passion. It has always been my dream to have my own business and figure out a way to support women. My dream is now my reality and I am able to help women feel empowered by up-leveling their business and developing brand authority.
I was always a hustler with a vision.
